We're looking to add a new node to the Elastic Product cluster as part of the Product Management team. At Elastic, we’re committed to providing the best user experience to our customers and open source community. One of the most important and visible portions of the Elastic Stack is our user interface, Kibana. Kibana empowers millions of users to answer hard questions, with large data sets, at scale. It is an integral part of the Elastic Stack that supports our Observability, Security and Enterprise Search solutions. To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and have experience making data driven product decisions. You will need to be able to balance technical problem solving with end user experience.
If you are passionate about the end to end product experience and finding simple solutions to complex problems we would love to talk to you!
What You Will Be Doing:
You will work together with the Kibana Product Management team, engineering, customers and other internal stakeholders to position and grow adoption of Kibana and the Elastic Stack. You will be responsible for evolving and maturing our Telemetry platform to provide meaningful insights into how the Elastic Stack is being utilized, defining our long term product strategy and enabling teams to create measurable success criteria. In addition to building out our next generation data collection and analytics platform, you will also be expected to productize this data for the Elastic community - augmenting existing products and developing entirely new ones.
In addition you will:
Gather and communicate feedback from internal stakeholders to improve our tools for measuring the success and usage of Elastic features, services, products and solutions.
Work closely with our engineering and design teams to introduce new features, workflows and experiences to Kibana
Capture requirements from the field, customers and community to enhance end user experiences by leveraging our analytical capabilities and feeding insights directly back into our products
Work closely with our legal department on contract language, compliance and staying up to date with data security laws
Maintain and expand our data transparency initiatives to ensure Elastic is capturing data responsibly
Take a data driven and goal oriented approach towards Product Management and feature development
Work with support, product marketing, sales and downstream solutions to ensure our features and products are properly supported, promoted, and utilized by the community and internal stakeholder
Provide competitive insight into a variety of products and markets for both sales enablement and engineering awareness
What You Bring Along:
You are broadly knowledgeable about modern ingest pipelines, ETL processes, data visualization, application design concepts and the technologies behind them. You are curious about how and why our community and customers utilize and extend the capabilities of the Elastic Stack. You are comfortable enabling internal stakeholders and evangelizing best practices for how best to gain insights from Elastics telemetry data
In addition, you have:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g. CS, CSE, EE) or meaningful work experience in a technical discipline (mandatory)
Comfort working in a very cross-functional role, with a highly distributed, global team
Excellent spoken and written business oriented and technical communication skills
Product management or development experience with modern front end user interfaces and backend services
