Elastic Cloud is Elastic’s SaaS offering, delivering the full suite of the Elastic Stack as well as Elastic’s Observability, Security, and Enterprise Search solutions across all 3 major cloud service providers. The Director of UX Design - Cloud will report to the VP of Engineering within Cloud and be responsible for the entire user experience of Elastic’s cloud platform. You will work closely with other design leaders in brand and product to provide a seamless experience as customers navigate our products. This is a player / coach position with the expectation that a successful candidate will need to work directly in design and code to deliver a world-class offering.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Ensure that UX is prioritized in company roadmaps by working with senior leadership and product teams
• Be hands on generating and reviewing the user experience designs for our most critical new capabilities 
• Nurture a culture of creativity and innovation within the team, with a focus on practical application and results
• Contribute and influence the direction of Elastic’s UI design system (EUI) as it relates to Cloud requirements 
• Coach Product Designers through one on ones, quarterly reviews and feedback loops
• Contribute and define hiring strategies for the larger Product Design organization.

What You Bring Along:

• A minimum of 5 years experience managing a pool of designers as direct reports.
• Working experience with prototype tooling (Figma, Framer, Sketch...etc)
• Working experience with design code (CSS/JS) specifically with an understanding of maintenance and upkeep
• Experience with designing enterprise SaaS products and administration flows 
• Proficiency around visual design, iconography, typography and UX as a visual medium

Bonus Points:

• Experience with a technical, enterprise product that understands engineers as a core persona
• Experience leading through change and rapid growth
• You’ve implemented data-driven designs as well as experimentation platforms
