Elastic is looking for a seasoned Director of Industry Analyst Relations (AR) experienced in leading and scaling programs at high-profile, high-growth software companies to help grow the AR function. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of managing a program for a multi-solution, SaaS company and a background in corporate communication with a specialization in AR, or experience leading a product marketing function with a focus on analyst relations. 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Corporate Communications, the Director of Industry AR is responsible for developing and executing a coordinated industry analyst relations program across Elastic’s core solutions areas: Enterprise Search, Observability, and Security. 

This position translates the company’s strategy into meaningful conversations with analysts at Tier 1 (Gartner, Forrester) and Tier 2 (IDC, 451, ESG, etc) advisory firms to help move the needle around the company’s reputation, technology and leadership via placements in analyst reports and overall commentary about the company.

The candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts and leadership to develop and drive compelling messaging and value propositions targeted to the analyst community. This role is also responsible for advising senior leaders about analysts’ perceptions of our company and providing critical insight on market trends, competitors and opportunities as we develop new and existing solutions areas.

Core Responsibilities

  • Scale a strategic analyst relations program in partnership with product marketing and corporate communications leaders to increase corporate visibility and perception with industry analysts across multiple categories relevant to our business.
  • Glean meaningful insights from conversations with analysts and communicate the message back to an executive audience.
  • Establish processes for ongoing communication and education of industry analysts.
  • Develop a plan to bring analysts into internal and external activities, such as securing analyst quotes for press releases and speaking at Elastic events.
  • Respond to analyst inquiries and monitor briefings to ensure that deliverables are provided. 
  • Work with the Elastic social media team to target top analysts and influencers for tracking the reach of our strategic engagements
  • Oversee budget analysis and recommendations for purchased analyst research and services.
  • Proactively monitor an analyst report calendar for coverage potential in collaboration with outside AR firm.
  • Partner with the Senior Director of Corporate Communications to regularly report on AR outcomes across the organization and communicate value back to an executive audience.

Proficiencies

  • 7-10 years of demonstrable experience driving industry analyst relations with companies in the observability, security (SIEM), enterprise search, or cloud database management systems space.
  • Strong understanding of key Elastic solutions (Enterprise Search, Observability and Security) and how the convergence of these technologies is poised to transform the enterprise.
  • Self-starter with proven project and business management skills and the ability to operate in a highly visible and accountable role.
  • Exceptional interpersonal relationship skills, big picture thinking, and strong analytical background.
  • Expert organizational skills to manage multiple work streams and engagements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and unwavering attention to detail.
  • Available to work in a highly-distributed, global time zone environment.
