Our mission is to provide a Certification program that is recognized by the industry as a meaningful and significant measure of an individual’s competence and expertise with the Elastic Stack. Elastic Certifications are hands-on, performance-based exams that require completing a series of timed, real-world tasks on Elasticsearch clusters in a proctored environment.

Given the demand from our community for Elastic Certification, we are looking for a Certification Developer/ Engineer who will help the team organize Job Task Analyses and create new exam content and grading scripts for the Certification program. You will also help maintain current exam content and have direct influence on building our program.

The right candidate is happy working on your own initiative, and does not require micro-management. Most of the team works remotely, and we are happy to consider you wherever you live.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Keep existing Elastic Stack exam questions up-to-date with the fast changing features of Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana and Beats
  • Assist in working  with our subject matter experts cross-functionally to create Job Task Analyses for new exams
  • Work hand in hand with our testing platform vendor during development, testing, and provisioning of exams and automatic grading scripts
  • Keep up to date with changes and advancements in the Elastic Stack and other similar technologies
  • Provide light customer support to resolve issues or questions for candidates attempting our certification exams
  • Assist with grading and recording exams

What You Bring Along:

  • A minimum of 4 years experience working as an engineer, developer, or integrator in information retrieval or related technologies
  • A minimum of 2 years experience building and developing curriculum, ideally certification content
  • BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related engineering discipline
  • A capacity to learn new things quickly and express your knowledge in a meaningful way
  • Strong knowledge of a programming language (and related ecosystem and libraries) and Linux/Unix environment, software development, and/or experience with search, databases and distributed systems
  • Strong communication skills while multitasking at a rapid pace
  • Self-motivated and enjoys working in a fast-paced highly distributed startup environment
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise confidentiality and neutrality in complex and sensitive situations
  • Experience contributing to an open-source project or documentation a plus
  • Desire to become Elastic Certified within the first 6 months

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working for a Certification program in the software industry
  • Elastic Certified Engineer
