The Strategic Sourcing Manager leads global sourcing activities associated with defined spend categories, including supplier strategy development and coordination of activities to ensure cost requirements are met and value is delivered to the organization. With support from the Sr. Director, Strategic Sourcing, you'll be empowered to own and drive forward the business areas you cover. This also represents an opportunity to contribute to the foundation and growth of the sourcing and procurement process across Elastic worldwide.

What You Will Be Doing:

This hire will assume day to day project leadership in all aspects of the sourcing process. This entails category assessment, the pursuit of cost savings opportunities, vendor due diligence, RFP, contract negotiations, and vendor management. You will cover Corporate Services spend categories that you are assigned. These categories may include but are not limited to Consulting, Contingent/Temp Labor, Outsourcing, HR including Benefits & Payroll, Travel, Events, Marketing, Legal, and Facilities.

In addition, you will:
  • Grow relationships with key partners across the HR, Marketing, Finance, Professional Services, Operations, and Legal organizations to develop sourcing strategies to meet their requirements
  • Collaborate with Finance and Planning counterparts to actively monitor and evaluate strategic sourcing opportunities and help drive planning and budgeting processes
  • Perform spend, market, and vendor analytical research, and communicate these findings to senior leaders to help drive decision-making
  • Bring together product and service specifications from business owners for RFx activities and vendor business reviews
  • Lead the development of award scenarios and recommendations for evaluation, consideration, and decision-making
  • Run the contract negotiation process in partnership with the business, legal and data security teams
  • Facilitate accurate and favorable transactions, and ongoing supplier management and accountability
  • Grow vendor relationships; using vendors as a source of innovation and growth
  • Build sourcing and procurement process and enable the associated tools
  • This is a global position and will require travel

What You Bring Along:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree plus 7+ years of meaningful experience working in sourcing with a strong focus on indirect spend categories
  • Broad sourcing experience and motivation to learn the different area of the business while influencing and/or leading sourcing projects across these categories and areas
  • Comfort and fluency in data analysis
  • High integrity combined with good business sense, with the ability to identify, recommend and select the best overall solution
  • Strong ability to develop, grow and maintain relationships with business partners and suppliers
  • Ability to facilitate decision-making via strong communication, influencing, negotiation, presentation, conflict resolution, and business analysis skills
