About The Role

Elastic is looking for an outstanding product mind to join the Elastic Security product team and help accelerate the growth of our security business. Elastic Security is a new kind of security solution that combines SIEM, host-based security, and cloud-native security use cases to protect the world’s data from attack.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to join the Elastic Security team as Director of Product Management, SIEM. You will ultimately be responsible for the vision and strategy of our flagship security product line. You will report directly to the VP of Product Management for Elastic Security and work closely with your peers within and across product lines.

You’ll have a tremendous ability to craft the future of Elastic Security and directly help Elastic’s 17K+ customers around the world.

Some of the things you'll do:

• Lead by influence - Provide product leadership for SIEM, working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, marketing, sales, and more.
• User and customer empathy - You will interact with customers and users on a regular basis to understand how they are using the Elastic Security products today and how they can be successful with SIEM. As the voice of the customer in our internal meetings, this understanding will ensure we make the best choices for our customers constantly.
• Lead a rockstar team - You will be responsible for the mentorship and growth of a team of product managers, and will be asked to continue to recruit and grow the team for future success.
• Partner with Marketing - You will conduct market research to understand the evolving SIEM market, identify key areas of growth, and work closely with Product Marketing to enable our users with this information.
• Partner with Engineering - You will partner closely with the Engineering team to write clear and concise requirements and work together to build great solutions.
• Partner with Design - You will have an eye for polished user experiences, thereby actively involved in prototyping, and maintaining an iterative approach to feature design and implementation.
• Leverage the Elastic Search Platform - Learn the strengths and weaknesses of the Elastic stack and guide the Security teams to use its strengths and avoid its pitfalls.
• Influence the evolution of the Elastic stack to better meet the needs of Security.

Knowledge - You know a lot about:

• SIEM and/or Security Analytics
• Threat Intelligence operations and management
• IT Security operational practices, technology trends, and current cyber threat landscape
• Led security services (MSSP) and enterprise security Centers of Excellence (CoE)
• Cloud Infrastructure from major providers including AWS, GCP, and Azure
• The Elastic Search Platform (ELK)
• Delivering open source products

Experience - You've succeeded for at least:

• 5 years in product management.
• 3 years in a cyber security product management role, SIEM highly preferred
• 3 years managing a team.

Competence and Education - You have:

• Passion for enterprise security operations
• Attention to detail and an ability to appreciate Gestalt principles
• Excellent communication skills and practices, with the ability to drive conversations across multiple teams to a conclusion.
• BS/MS degree in a technical field, MBA a plus
• CISSP or other security certifications are a plus

The typical starting Total Cash Compensation range for new hires in this role is between $182,600 and $251,200, which consists of a Base Salary or a Base Salary plus a Target Commission, depending on the specific role. The Base Salary offered may vary depending on factors including skills and experience.

Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within a holistic total rewards offering.
