This role is a critical part of the Product Marketing function. We are a group of creative technologists that live at the intersection of engineering and storytelling. Whether it’s a minor release or a new product launch, we drive all aspects of the GTM strategy – from defining the core message to getting the company enabled and aligned to it.

This role reports to the VP of Product Marketing. 

We’re looking to add a new node to our cluster, focused on defining and driving the Competitive Intelligence (CI) practice for Elastic. This leader will lead our cross-functional CI initiatives. You will be in charge of orchestrating all CI initiatives in close collaboration with multiple teams (Product Marketing, Product Management, Solution Architecture and Sales). From gathering and analyzing data, proactively researching specific competitors, to delivering actionable field enablement tools, you will play a pivotal role in our hypergrowth.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with multiple GTM teams to deliver actionable and current competitive updates to Sales
  • Coordinate and execute research on competitive developments through different channels, including market research, industry analysts, win-loss analysis and general surveys
  • Work closely with the GTM teams in understanding relevant technological advancements and value prop from competitors and translating those to Sales playbooks
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing and Product Management and contribute to competitive positioning of specific solutions as well as the overall portfolio
  • Bring excellent leadership and teamship to the company, interfaces effectively with Product, Sales, Marketing and Partners
  • Define objectives and key results for each of the CI initiatives and manage them as a portfolio
  • Create, curate, and present compelling content for consumption on the Web, press releases, executive briefings, blogs and sales enablement
  • Represent the company at various speaking engagements, conferences and press interviews

What You Will Bring 

Being successful will require you to bring to Elastic relevant domain expertise – proven industry experience in Cloud technologies, search, infrastructure monitoring, DevOps and related technologies. In detail, we would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Competitive Intelligence (CI) practice expertise
  • Well respected leader who has led teams more through influence than organizational authority
  • Proven track record leading outbound product initiatives focused on enterprise customers with complex requirements
  • Creative energy, courage to throw out the playbook, and out of the box thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Technically savvy with regards to our products, solutions, industries we play in and capable of learning very quickly
  • Comfortable working in a very cross-functional role with a highly distributed team
  • Sales enablement experience is a must
