Content Marketing Manager, Product Marketing, Elastic Platform

The Role:

We're looking to add a new node to the content marketing team for the core Elastic Platform (Stack + Cloud).  In this role, you will be a senior contributor on the content marketing team, working closely with product marketing, demand generation, and sales to deliver digital content across a variety of formats and channels. You are a strong writer and strategist who can collaborate with product marketers to translate technical jargon into stories and assets that drive business value for our prospects and customers. As the lead content marketer on the integrated marketing team that supports the Elastic Platform, you will be responsible for three key areas: 

Content Strategy & Planning

  • Own quarterly content audits to improve existing assets, retire outdated/underperforming assets, and ideate areas for content experimentation. 
  • Use content performance data, audience / persona insights, and competitive analysis to develop the content strategy, audience content journey mapping, editorial / story angles, and final content plan (hero and derivative assets).
  • Collaborate with the Director of Content to develop processes, define standards, and suggest tools to keep the content team at the forefront of innovation

Content Production & Oversight

  • Build relationships with subject matter authorities (internal and external) to find, create, or optimize stories into multi-channel formats, in-house and/or with external agencies. 
  • Own asset production - from brief and SME interviews to outlines and creative treatments to final asset delivery - across a variety of formats (e.g., email, webpages, eBooks, video scripts) that drive audience engagement, SEO relevance, and brand excellence. 
  • Serve as an editor and reviewer of content built by other marketing content creators, such as product marketing, demand generation, events, and thought leadership, to drive consistency, quality, and accurate use of the Elastic style guide.

Content Distribution & Performance

  • Work with demand gen, social media, internal communications, digital, etc. to ensure assets are tagged, promoted, and shared across Elastic external channels.
  • Monitor and measure content using reporting tools like Google Analytics and Tableau.
  • Based on data insights, provide recommendations on how to improve our content, including presenting to executive stakeholders with the Director of Content, as needed.

Candidates will be asked to submit writing samples and/or a creative portfolio.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Marketing, English, Communications, Journalism, or a related degree and/or relevant work experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in content marketing or related domains
  • Impeccable organizational skills to project manage and track content progress in content management and team tools
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Experience editing and improving upon content authored by others
  • Experience creating customer-facing content across the marketing funnel and sales-facing assets
  • Comfort collaborating with a highly distributed team and diverse teams of marketing, design, and technology practitioners

Although not required, you may have experience:

  • Creating content for product launches and releases
  • Building persona profiles and conducting user research and testing
  • Managing content translation or globalization with regional markets 
  • Experience engaging in cloud services or partnering with public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud

The typical starting Total Cash Compensation range for new hires in this role is between $74,200 and $102,000, which consists of a Base Salary or a Base Salary plus a Target Commission, depending on the specific role. The Base Salary offered may vary depending on factors including skills and experience.

Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within a holistic total rewards offering.
