We're looking to add a new node to the Elastic Product cluster as part of the Product Management team. One of the most important and visible portions of the Elastic Stack is our user interface, Kibana. Kibana is the window through which our users view Elastic. It’s used for everything from building custom data visualizations, to monitoring the health of the cluster, to digging into security alerts triggered on remote machines. In this role, you will define and promote Elastic’s strategy for our telemetry platform and product analytics across the organization. To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and cross-functional.

What You Will Be Doing:

You will work with product management, sales, engineering, senior leadership and other internal stakeholders to position and grow the adoption of the Elastic by enabling teams to make data driven decisions through our telemetry platform.

You will be responsible for:

  • Defining our long-term product analytics strategy and evolving our telemetry platform to derive meaningful insights about how our products are being used.
  • Gathering, synthesizing, and disseminating feedback from internal stakeholders to support business requirements and improve how we measure the success of Elastic features, services, products and solutions.
  • Providing guidance to engineering teams on the data models and statistics required to answer the quantitative questions that will help grow our business
  • Conducting statistical analysis on usage, adoption, retention & expansion funnels, and end user behavior trends
  • Promoting the adoption of telemetry throughout Elastic

What You Bring Along:

You are broadly knowledgeable of modern ingest pipelines, ETL processes, statistical analysis techniques, data visualization, the customer lifecycle and product adoption funnels.

You excel when working in a very cross-functional role, with a highly distributed, global team and have experience effectively communicating across these teams.

You are comfortable enabling internal stakeholders and evangelizing best practices for how best to gain insights from telemetry data.

In addition, you have:

  • Data analytics experience deriving meaningful insights, building executive level dashboards and reporting findings
  • Product management experience with telemetry, KPI’s and product usage data and the technical implementation behind them
  • Open source software and/or commercial open source company experience (desired, but not required)
