Every three weeks, we release a new version of the Elastic Stack and Solutions. And while release days consist of building and shipping 500+ artifacts to the different release channels (Elastic registry, Maven Central, Red Hat Catalog and so on), we’ve made it a non-event! The infrastructure and automation built and maintained by the Platform release team is pivotal to Elastic’s success. We’re continuously evolving our release workflow and increasingly pushing boundaries towards a Continuous Delivery model to our Cloud offering. There are many challenges ahead of us, and we’re looking for the person that will help us solve them and keep our releases non-events, regardless of our scale. Does this sound like you?

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Maintain and evolve Elastic build and release infrastructure
  • Collaborate with product teams across the organization to integrate new artifacts into the Unified Release Process
  • Evangelize and mentor others on the topic of build and release management
  • Proactively identify and fix the issues in tooling and processes
  • Be part of a distributed team of engineers from all across the globe

What You Bring Along:

  • Your experience in the software delivery ecosystem, working on CI/CD pipelines
  • A deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle: building, packaging, testing and releasing
  • A passion for working across the org and interacting with internal customers
  • Experience with Docker and knowledge of its ecosystem.
  • Experience with build automation frameworks like Gradle or Maven and languages such as Java and Python

Bonus Points:

You don't need to have all of these items, but these represent the types of work you will do on the team.

  • Experience with Jenkins, Tekton CD, or other similar CI/CD technologies
  • Experience with Kubernetes and knowledge of its ecosystem.
  • Independent and driven, you have invested in your organizational skills and know how to “get in the zone” to focus on writing code
  • Understanding the power of async communication, you can clearly and concisely communicate about technical and architectural problems and propose thorough iterative solutions
