We are hiring a Finance Director to partner with our Engineering (Product) organization and enable our leadership in their decision making related to investments in this critical organization.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Be responsible for and lead finance for the Engineering organization. Support our Engineering leaders in strategic planning and develop monthly executive-level summary packages that illustrate progress against targets
  • Provide financial modeling and analytics, and be a strategic thought partner to Engineering leaders.
  • Drive company wide initiatives to grow the Cloud business
  • Work closely with business leaders to identify and develop key metrics that will provide important insights into our business, and achieve our short term and long term goals
  • Partner with other Finance teams (Accounting, A/P, Investor Relations, and Tax) to support month-end close, flux review processes, and financial reporting
  • Acquire comprehensive understanding of Elastic’s technologies, products, and market segment

What You Bring Along:

  • 10+ years of experience in FP&A and/or other Finance Business Partner equivalent role, preferably in a SaaS company
  • Strong leadership skills; highly motivated self-starter with a very strong work ethic who is willing to work both autonomously and as part of a growing team
  • Public company quarterly close and reporting cadence experience
  • Ability to operate at multiple altitudes, prioritize workload and lead multiple projects and tasks
  • Maintaining relationships and communicating with a wide range of partners across functions and countries
  • Expertise in understanding and analyzing product cost drivers, including Public Cloud hosting expense modeling
  • Proven track record to evaluate and tackle sophisticated problems and understand the strategic implications of different business approaches
  • Exceptional social skills, able to establish strong rapport and partnerships at all levels of the organization

  • Very strong proficiency with financial modeling and spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)
  • Remarkable analytical skills and the ability to distill sophisticated information
  • Ability to work independently in a distributed, fast-paced environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to executives

The typical starting Total Cash Compensation range for new hires in this role is between $149,300 and $205,300, which consists of a Base Salary or a Base Salary plus a Target Commission, depending on the specific role. The Base Salary offered may vary depending on factors including skills and experience.

Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within a holistic total rewards offering.
