What is The Role:

For all of us at Elastic, community matters. Our users and contributors have helped to ensure that Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, and Beats are more than just code — they are open source projects that people love to use, and love to talk about! As our Community Programs Specialist for the APJ region, you will champion Elastic's software developer community.

Are you that kind of person who is invigorated by supporting the tech community? Do you feel at home organizing meetups and developer conference appearances by identifying and coordinating requirements; developing schedules and assignments; and reporting on your activities using various tooling? Well, this might just be your dream job. In this role, you will support the advocacy of Elastic's product line by organizing meetups and conference participation as well as the coordination of related logistics, driving regional conference strategy, and other challenges as required.

User group meetings typically take place in the evenings (and on Saturdays in India), so it is crucial that you would be available to remotely support these events on an as-needed basis.

What You Will Be Doing:

• End-to-end event management, from initial planning to post-event evaluation
• Coordinate swag ordering and delivery to developer conferences, meetups, and community members
• Partner with Developer Advocates on regional event strategy
• Draft and proofread marketing collateral for events
• Comfortably communicate with many different colleagues in various roles across a distributed company and community
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

• Extensive experience in event and logistics coordination
• Strong project management skills
• Comfortable reporting and tracking results
• Budget management
• Initiative planning
• Near-native English skills are a must

• A link showcasing some of the events you've produced or organized
• Familiarity with Mandarin language is a bonus
