Elastic is seeking a Senior Manager, Digital Marketing, on our Digital Strategy and Performance Marketing team. You will be chartered with building our database growth strategy and email marketing program. You will focus on growing and engaging our database, moving customers forward in the buyer’s journey, and delivering an excellent customer experience.  

In this role, you will align with the Global Campaigns and Regional Marketing teams to develop a database growth and engagement strategy to support campaign plans and objectives. You will build a new email marketing function, lead our email content, prioritization, and design strategy, and conduct A/B testing to improve results. You will carefully track and report on performance metrics such as sign-ups, unsubscribes, open rates, and content engagement.

Success will require the ability to deliver and implement a database growth strategy, investigate cohort analysis and database health, set customer-centric email campaign goals, project manage key initiatives, establish a comprehensive prioritization model, maintain a keen eye for compelling and innovative content, and stay excited for continuous improvement. This person will need to have an ambitious nature to try new things, a drive for testing and learning, and the skills to prioritize projects effectively. This role will soon lead a team of digital strategists aligned with regional priorities.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Create and implement a strategy to drive new customer acquisition and database growth through the email channel 
  • Define critical metrics and optimize email execution, while identifying tactics with high retention and viral follow-on
  • Lead detailed analyses of email campaign effectiveness, including segmentation, creative targeting, and audience behavior
  • Provide direction and insights into database health and cohort analysis as it aligns to business priorities
  • Continuously set a higher standard on attribution metrics and develop new/better standards to optimally measure campaign success
  • Develop, deploy, analyze and disseminate comprehensive reporting
  • Drive day-to-day email channel execution in tandem with a central ops team assisting in the development of the channel’s long-term strategy
  • Stay current with email channel and overall digital marketing standard processes and innovations
  • Cultivate storytelling to create a dynamic, engaging and authentic brand experience that successfully reflects the spirit of our mission
  • Encourage, collaborate and propel internal and external partners (Design, Digital Agency, Regional, Partner Marketing)
  • Help with the build and optimization of the end-to-end customer experience, lead and customer conversion, and cost per lead analysis

What You Bring Along:

  • 6+ years of digital marketing experience (with hands on email experience)
  • Experience working with large data sets and complex analyses translated to dashboards and reporting insights
  • Background in digital strategy development
  • Experience generating and carrying out large-scale digital campaigns across platforms aimed at growing audiences and delivering on engagement metrics
  • Experience collaborating with internal teams and external agencies/partners
  • Creative problem solver with a passion for developing and delivering big ideas for our customers
  • Highly developed willingness to not only strategize, but complete to the highest standard across all stages of the campaign lifecycle
  • Experience with Enterprise marketing tools such as Marketo, Eloqua, etc.
  • Strong understanding of HTML and basic web coding (landing page development)
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology platforms
  • Self-starter, results-focused, creative, and a great teammate
  • Experience in cloud computing/tech industry, brand marketing spend and with B2B marketing
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior executives
  • Track record of driving adoption of new insights and pioneering innovative approaches within your team or company

The typical starting Total Cash Compensation range for new hires in this role is between $128,100 and $176,200, which consists of a Base Salary or a Base Salary plus a Target Commission, depending on the specific role. The Base Salary offered may vary depending on factors including skills and experience.

Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within a holistic total rewards offering.
