Elastic is looking for an innovative, data-obsessed digital marketing leader to take our digital strategy and paid media programs, including search, display, social, and content syndication to the next level.

The Senior Director, Digital Strategy and Performance Media is responsible for two critical aspects of the business to support global growth. This person will lead a small team that develops omni-channel digital strategies to support our global campaigns, corporate events (ElasticON), and partner marketing. In addition, this person will also lead the paid media team, including handling annual and quarterly planning and reporting. This person has extensive experience leading and developing marketing plans consisting of multi-touch digital programs as well as handling marketing agencies and technology vendors to meet digital demand gen goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Own and handle the demand gen budget
  • Lead all aspects of a paid media channels team
  • Develop and implement jointly with Regional Marketing and Sales pipeline generation and acceleration programs for lead generation and digital customer acquisition
  • Build annual and quarterly marketing plans and targets that focus on new logos and accelerate existing opportunities
  • Collaborate with regional marketing and sales to understand, provide strategy, and implement paid media plans to ensure digital campaigns achieve growth targets
  • Proactively engage with the regional marketing teams to coordinate, communicate, and optimize the impact of marketing activities
  • Evaluate, select and handle vendors that give to demand creation programs including agencies, content syndication providers, and fulfillment services
  • Craft and implement marketing initiatives to meet pipeline requirements of multifaceted account segments
  • Track lead flow to ensure the appropriate sales channels are following up on marketing in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive account profiles and target personas; lead all aspects of a database of named contacts to align marketing and sales in defining the target audience required to achieve account goals
  • Find opportunities to improve marketing efficiency through better audience segmentation, lifecycle nurture programs, marketing techniques, and processes

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 10+ years experience in B2B and SaaS demand generation with strong cross-digital marketing channel expertise
  • Experience with demand gen/digital marketing budget management and target setting
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Proven track record driving innovative, omni-channel demand generation programs to support live events, webinars, digital advertising, and social networking


Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.

$200,400$316,940 USD
The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is:
$240,300$380,190 USD
