Deal Desk, Center Of Excellence, Overview 

The Director, Deal Desk COE will lead the design, implementation and execution of process improvement in the areas of engagement with sales and cross functional organizations, as well as approval governance. This candidate will set policy to govern the process, and lead a team of experts who drive the resolution of quoting issues faced by sales executives once they have exhausted their ability to resolve. This leadership role will partner with the Vice President of Deal Desk to execute the vision of building and scaling a world class Deal Desk function that is empowered to partner with the business to grow the average deal size, and execute the strategy of the business. This role will play a critical part in building out the deal desk function over the next 2 years, and support all process creations and refinement and policy decisions to achieve that goal. This leader will also serve as a key decision maker for the business for system changes impacting the quoting process. 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization
  • Spearhead process improvement projects, liaising with significant stakeholders including driving to specific outcomes within set deadlines
  • Design policies to drive executional excellence
  • Develop, document and maintain best practices, project standards, procedures, quality objectives and “lessons learned” including metrics for assessing progress, ensuring established standards are met
  • Create and monitor KPI’s to track progress of deal desk function.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to apply technology to expanding business potential, thereby strongly impacting competitive advantage and profitability
  • Identify systematic process and policy driven problems and develop corrective actions, systems or process changes that will resolve problems and improve deal desk operations
  • Lead and mentor a scaling team of individuals
  • Monitor and report on the status of multiple concurrent project efforts including presenting on project performance, changes, enhancements, scope, variations and other related matters 
  • Participate in key management activities and committees

What You Bring Along:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 10+ years experience in Business, Change Management, Process improvement 
  • Experience in deal support or operations preferably in a SaaS company
  • Subject matter expert in financial business processes including order-to-cash a plus
  • Strong results orientation, bias for action
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a distributed, fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to executives

The typical starting Total Cash Compensation range for new hires in this role is between $149,300 and $205,300, which consists of a Base Salary or a Base Salary plus a Target Commission, depending on the specific role. The Base Salary offered may vary depending on factors including skills and experience.

Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within a holistic total rewards offering.
