We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Data Governance to join our growing Enterprise Data team. The primary mission of the Enterprise Data team is to enable the availability and reliability of data across the enterprise to support Elastic’s strategic objectives by driving how data is defined, consumed, delivered, and governed!

What You Will be Doing:
  • Design, promote, and implement an enterprise master data and metadata strategy roadmap for active data governance over data assets across all domains and platforms.
  • Collaborative cross-functionally to develop and implement governance policies balancing centralized control and standardization with decentralized speed and flexibility.
  • Drive adoption, engagement, and collaboration of data governance initiatives; partner multi-functionally to define data ownership and stewardship.
  • Evaluate, supervise, maintain, communicate data quality status across assets.
  • Effectively lead multi-functional data governance committees.
  • Supervise and maintain data quality, validation/audits, and governance for data domains.
  • Identify and develop the critical metrics to supervise and monitor the health/quality of information.
  • Enable data teams to implement standard methodologies for collecting data sets, data lineage, and other key areas of data management.
What You Bring Along:
  • 8+ years relevant work experience in leading and driving data governance programs/initiatives.
  • Consistent track record of agility, proactive and comfortable working in ambiguity; thinks creatively to come up with innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Having a strong foundational understanding of both the functional (business) needs and data and analytics.
  • Ability to lead with a “customer-focused” mentality, challenge the status quo, inspire change while keeping a sense of humor through it all.
  • Ability to think creatively, with a curiosity for solving problems holistically with a consulting mentality.
  • Ability to communicate persuasively and concisely across different functional audiences, at varying levels of seniority.
  • Understanding of and appreciation for the nuances in data landscapes, business applications and processes.
  • Self-motivated, pragmatic and get-it-done mentality.
  • Strong teammate, adept at operating across different functions/teams and levels in the organization.

The typical starting Total Cash Compensation range for new hires in this role is between $135,900 and $186,900, which consists of a Base Salary or a Base Salary plus a Target Commission, depending on the specific role. The Base Salary offered may vary depending on factors including skills and experience.

Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within a holistic total rewards offering.
