You will be joining the product management team at Elastic. Specifically the cloud security posture product team. We are passionate about solving user problems. Being an early hire to this fledgling team, gives you the opportunity to shape the product vision from day one. Your primary job is to be the voice of the customer. We have an exciting and fulfilling journey ahead of us. Our reward is happy users who use our tools to secure their cloud stacks.

In brief, the Cloud Security Posture team is responsible for providing tools that protect cloud-native environments using policy management. As a product manager, you will have significant responsibility, and influence over the prioritization, story capture and planning of the roadmap. Expect autonomy and accountability to go hand in hand. Worth noting that our solution leverages the Open Policy Agent (OPA). An open source, general-purpose policy engine that enables unified, context-aware policy enforcement across the entire stack.

What you will be doing:

  • Own translating the messy and overcrowded world of cloud security problems into a rational roadmap for our engineers
  • Work closely with product marketing to articulate the problem we are solving and our specific solution. There are 100’s of standards, benchmarks and technologies vying for user attention. Shining a clear path through this jumbled mess is invaluable
  • Be great at writing clear and concise requirements that can be adopted as stories by the engineering team
  • Team up with the extended security team at Elastic to craft a simple and complete experience for the user. The other teams have deep expertise in the areas of endpoint security and workload security
  • Partner with a globally distributed and diverse design, engineering and product management team to ensure we ship high quality software consistently

What you bring along:

  • High curiosity and a drive to be great at defining problems
  • Passion, awareness, and the willingness to dive deep and master complex cloud technologies both mature and emerging
  • Experience or expertise with technologies like kubernetes, docker, terraform, or public clouds like AWS, Azure, GCP are highly desirable
  • A track record of breaking down complex technical problems into smaller problems using non-technical jargon
  • An understanding of the craft and art of product management. It relies a lot more on influence over authority. So treat people with respect and dignity is paramount to building great products
