We are seeking a highly skilled Vice President of Americas Solutions Architecture to lead all aspects of our Americas presales organization, which is comprised of Canada, the United States, and LATAM. Your main responsibility will be to build and lead a cross-functional team that is passionate about exceeding growth targets while ensuring continued customer retention and acquisition.

As a key member of our Sales Leadership team, you will help craft the strategy for building a high-performance team and scaling our company in the Americas. Your success will depend on your ability to cultivate and engage with the Elastic Community, embrace a Cloud-First approach, and focus on delivering solutions rather than just products.

To be successful in this role, you should be an innovative and strategic problem solver with experience scaling a Solutions Architecture organization in a highly driven market. You should have a proven record of navigating and scaling high-growth businesses within fast-paced, engineering-led, and globally distributed environments.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead and develop an organization of technical and specialized Go-To-Market (GTM) Solutions Architects.
  • Enable Americas Solution Architecture regional leaders, to successfully guide and develop their managers and technical talent within the team.
  • Drive the evolution of our pre-sales organization to effectively support the variety of solutions across our business; including the corporate mid-market, and enterprise segments.
  • Develop and implement scalable processes ensuring predictability and consistency while accelerating the Americas' growth.
  • Implement people strategies that will build and retain a complementary team of pre-sales professionals. In parallel enable and develop top talent while encouraging an environment of predictability, accountability, and consistency.
  • In collaboration with Partner Product and Engineering, implement cross-functional product feedback loops which will help to drive the product development direction. Prioritize features that are most relevant to our customers and users.
  • Closely collaborate with Americas sales leadership, product, revenue operations, enablement, human resources, and recruiting teams as key partners in achieving team goals.
  • Responsible for the Americas annual planning process from beginning to end; this includes budget responsibility, headcount planning, and recruiting, through to successful employee onboarding.
  • Drive the value proposition for Elastic Cloud within our community and customers, communicating and aligning key product insights across all Americas business functions.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience with the development and implementation of a pre-sales strategy that helps accelerate sales of a specific product(s).
  • Bring with you a tried and true playbook for recruiting, hiring, coaching, mentoring, and motivating technical GTM while leading successfully through change.
  • Demonstrates evidence of the ability to articulate and sell the benefits of modern platforms and technologies, preferably in the space of Search, Security, APM, and Logging.
  • A strong grasp of distributed systems and various Technical Architectures (should include but not be limited to, Hybrid Cloud, Microservices, Event Driven, Containerization, and Orchestration).
  • Previous experience working in SaaS industries is advantageous.
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
  • Proven thought leadership in the field of AI and machine learning; such as conference presentations, publications, or open-source contributions.
  • Proficiency in public speaking at industry and company events with an ability to "lead the room' while presenting and selling with audiences both large and small.
  • Senior leadership experience with a passion for crafting a diverse and inclusive team that develops trust and empowerment via a purposeful culture.
  • Bring a strategic approach to help drive Elastic’s to go to market sales strategy.
  • A deep understanding of our customer's needs to craft and implement processes to solve their most significant business challenges resulting in customer value
  • A consistent track record of growth and overachieving targets in a high-velocity, high-growth business
  • 10-15 years successfully building, leading, and mentoring, a team of Solution Architects (Sales Engineers).

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary plus commission.  On-Target Earnings (OTE) are based on a 70/30 pay mix (base salary / target variable).  

The typical starting OTE range for new hires in this role is listed below.  This range represents the lowest to highest OTE we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the OTE range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.

The typical starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for this role is:
$359,900$569,250 USD
