The Finance team is seeking a Senior Manager to lead our global accounts payable and T&E teams. The ideal candidate for this role thrives in a fast-paced, evolving company and is a “builder”; who desires to design the strategy, build the processes, and coach the team to scale Elastic’s global accounts payable function. In this role, you will develop the global accounts payable strategy, roadmap, and operational plan while also building, managing and coaching the team in the day-to-day operations of vendor onboarding, PO management, invoice processing to payment, and the corporate card program and related T&E processes.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Leading and coaching a growing distributed team of 10+ across multiple countries owning vendor onboarding, the purchase order process and management, invoice processing to payment, corporate and purchase card programs and related T&E policy and processes.
  • Oversight of month-end accounts payable and T&E accounting close processes and ultimate ownership of all related SOX controls.
  • Developing and owning the global accounts payable strategy, roadmap and operational plan.
  • Leading/representing the accounts payable team through new processes or projects (e.g. implementation of a global corporate card program, rollout of accounts payable processes in new global entities, enhancements to our user interfaces or NetSuite functionality). The ability to think end-to-end on process changes is essential.
  • Developing KPIs and relevant metrics to monitor performance and drive change within the organization.
  • Preparing quarterly business reviews and presenting to senior leadership.
  • Reviewing existing and designing new processes for scale, balanced with the need for accuracy and compliance.
  • Point of escalation for questions, issues, or concerns from across the business and senior leadership.
  • Ensure global regulatory requirements are maintained and that the team maintains detailed up-to-date documentation of all processes and procedures.

What You Bring Along:

  • 10+ years in accounts payable in a public, global company environment; 5+ years at a manager level required.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Accounting month-end close experience including ownership of SOX documentation and controls.
  • Transactional level NetSuite experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience communicating and partnering with cross-functional teams at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive and effectively lead a team in a rapidly growing and fast-paced environment at scale. Proven experience in thinking and executing at scale is key!
  • Demonstrated track record of scaling processes from manual to automated.
  • Solid business judgment with ability to think strategically and plan operationally; capable of being hands-on but also can see the big picture.
