Elastic is seeking a dynamic leader for our revenue accounting team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Revenue, the successful candidate will oversee technical accounting research related to complex revenue transactions, maintenance, and review of worldwide revenue accounting policies and procedures. In addition, this role will partner with the business to support new revenue models, with a highly developed ability to combine business and technical accounting experience to provide sound advice to leadership.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Be the subject matter expert on revenue accounting to provide guidance on technical accounting, policy, and process.
  • Oversee review of non-standard contracts to ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP and internal policies.
  • Assist in the review of revenue disclosures for external financial reporting in ensuring compliance with SEC and GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Review the Company’s revenue recognition policy and desktop procedures for ongoing revenue activities to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Partner closely with the Finance Data Transformation team to build efficiencies through the elimination of legacy manual processes and implementing technological solutions.
  • Lead an accurate and timely month-end Cloud Revenue close and cloud automation UAT projects by driving solutions at scale.

What You Bring Along:

The thought of leading the global revenue team and growing our cloud business as a revenue subject matter expert in a fast-paced, growing tech company gets you excited!

  • 12+ years of combined experience in both public accounting and leading a revenue accounting function in a publicly-traded company.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant revenue accounting guidance under ASC 606 relating to Software, SaaS, and Services revenue recognition.
  • Leadership experience managing a team and aligning project goals with organization and sponsor goals, leading through ambiguity, and changing the direction of projects and strategies.
  • Experience in communicating with a broad team of professionals to distill sophisticated concepts and analyses into concise and practical conclusions.
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of OTC issues and challenges.
  • Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects while meeting goals and deadlines.

In addition, you have:

  • CPA required, Big 4 experience highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience with SFDC CPQ, NetSuite, and RevPro preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

The typical starting Total Cash Compensation range for new hires in this role is between $153,800 and $211,500, which consists of a Base Salary or a Base Salary plus a Target Commission, depending on the specific role. The Base Salary offered may vary depending on factors including skills and experience.

Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within a holistic total rewards offering.
