We are looking for a Cloud Revenue Analyst to be the newest member of our Revenue team in this fast growing, truly globally distributed company.

You will join a team in transition. Elastic is growing like a rocket ship and our revenue team is challenged to scale and ensure the integrity of our revenue accounting. We are rapidly growing our cloud business, so this is an exceptional time to apply what you've learned and help define the foundational workflows of our cloud revenue accounting. You will account for deals sold under ASC 606 and IFRS 15 and help train new teammates as the Revenue team continues to grow.

As a highly collaborative company, you will collaborate with many groups including Sales, Sales Operations, Order Operations, Pricing, Legal, FP&A, Internal, and external Auditors.

We are a distributed company, and this role is fully remote.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Ensuring the accurate reporting of cloud revenue in the company’s accounting system, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations and performing internal controls
  • Maintaining revenue cutoff procedures at quarter-end to ensure revenue are properly and accurately recorded for the period
  • Handling day-to-day, month-end, quarter-end close activities (revenue assurance, account reconciliation, analysis, and reporting)
  • Assisting with internal controls, continuous improvement of revenue processes, and researching and documenting accounting positions for complex transactions

What You Bring Along:

  • You aren't afraid to take initiative, voice your ideas, and help us get the information and results we need
  • You have prior experience in software revenue accounting in US GAAP (mandatory), with ASC 606 a plus
  • You've worked with revenue automation software before and understand the basic workflows through a system

Bonus Points:

  • Big 4 public accounting firm background a plus
  • Solid understanding of software and SaaS (especially consumption based) revenue guidance in US GAAP, with ASC 606 & IFRS 15 a plus
  • Enjoy building policies and processes and making improvements
  • Ability to research technical accounting issues and provide your perspective
  • Ability to work both independently and as a trusted teammate in a dynamic environment
  • NetSuite, RevPro and Salesforce experience preferred
  • Experience in a fast-growing technology company
  • Minimum of 2-5 years revenue accounting experience
  • Proven written and verbal English communication skills
  • Strong Excel and PC skills
  • Results oriented with solid attention to detail
  • Strong reconciliation skills


Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below. 

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.  

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program.  Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.

$74,200$117,415 USD
The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is:
$89,000$140,760 USD
